What does flustix certify?
Learn more about flustix certifications for less plastics, microplastic-free, recycled, or recyclable products and packaging.
Almost any type of product can qualify for one of the flustix LESS PLASTICS Certifications or our Circular Seals. The goal is to make low-plastic or microplastic-free products visible at first glance to consumers (B2C) and at all levels of the supply chain (B2B). Product components, such as packaging or content, can be tested and labeled separately. After successful testing and the granting of a license, the flustix seal is available for use in advertising on-pack, at the point of sale, in print and online media, as well as in television advertising. The flustix RECYCLED and flustix RECYCLABLE labels can be displayed on products that are either made entirely or partially from recycled materials or are recyclable. flustix RECYCLED not only provides clarity for consumers but also labels semi-finished products, components, and raw materials (plastic recyclates), making it particularly valuable in the B2B sector. The seal also offers transparency regarding the type of recyclate used. With flustix RECYCLABLE, recyclable packaging can be certified. Both flustix RECYCLED and flustix RECYCLABLE (our circular seals, recognizable by the magenta color) are awarded in cooperation with our independent and recognized partner, DIN CERTCO / TÜV Rheinland.

Test-Based Award System
To be awarded the flustix LESS-PLASTICS Certifications, the flustix MICROPLASTIC-FREE Seal, or the RECYCLABLE Certification, the product must undergo a laboratory-based testing process. If a manufacturer or distributor wishes to label their product with the seal, they must submit product samples to our partner laboratory as instructed. Independent experts will then test the product using the latest analysis methods to determine its (micro)plastic content or recyclability. The results serve as the basis for the seal’s award by our certification partners after an independent conformity assessment.
To certify products or packaging with the flustix RECYCLED Seal, the supply chain is audited – from the recyclate to the product being certified. This process is carried out by the auditors of our partner, DIN CERTCO / TÜV Rheinland. Through this assessment, the content and type of secondary plastics (PIR / PCR / MIX) used are determined and indicated with the corresponding percentage in the flustix combination label.
With the flustix seals, companies make a clear statement for plastic sustainability.
Our goal is not to demonize plastic – after all, it is indispensable in many areas, such as medicine. Instead, flustix views plastic as a material that should be used responsibly and in the most reduced manner possible. Consumers and companies are placing increasing value on sustainable purchasing decisions, especially in a market that is aligning itself both on an EU regulatory level and internationally (e.g., in Canada, Hong Kong) towards sustainable product development and transparent sustainability communication. With a flustix certification, you are well-positioned to meet the demands of the current and future market environment.
