flustix RECYCLED extended to further materials
Until now, flustix RECYCLED was mainly known for the certification of plastic products. From now on, with the expansion of the certification offer, also for instance metals, glass, construction materials or wood can receive the flustix RECYCLED seal. All these constituents, except radioactive, medical and paper sector products, can certify and advertise their use of recyclates with the flustix RECYCLED seal, as long as they are proven to contain recyclates.
The certification is based on the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14021 and DIN EN 15343 in conjunction with other requirements of the certification program. End products, semi-finished products and recyclates themselves can all be certified. The certification partner is DIN Certco (TÜV Rheinland).
The DIN Tested mark is also integrated into the seal. Licensees can use the seal to credibly demonstrate the authenticity and percentage of recyclates used, as well as communicate this to the outside world. In addition, both PCR (post consumer recyclate), PIR (post industrial recyclate) and the mix of both types of recyclate are made recognizable on the label. This ensures absolute transparency for both retailers and consumers when purchasing.
„It’s a pleasure to be able to serve the sustainability efforts of all stakeholders through the expansion of flustix RECYCLED. Until now, consumers have not been able to transparently and reliably track which products contain glass or metal recyclates. Yet these industries in particular have the highest recycling rates. Of course, flustix continues to focus on saving and recycling plastic. Thanks to the material expansion, we are looking beyond the end of our noses and trying to make it possibly transparent that there is a lot more that can be done in terms of a functioning circular economy.“
