Damaged Goods: Memoir of a Phoenix Rising

A compiled collection of childhood memories and police reports documenting Physical, Emotional, and sexual abuse. My account of generational trauma, and the effect it has had on me. This book started out as a suggestion to journal my childhood memories, by an amazing Therapist Richard Hellgren. The following graphic content is a direct result of years of generational trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and years of much needed Therapy. The unconditional love and support from my King has brought my story to publication. Although the details and language are graphic in nature, there is a bigger picture that needs to be seen. The dream I have for this literary work is to break open the locked doors of family kept secrets. I want to bring light to the darkness that affects so many of us. I want to destroy the shields families have for the monsters that prey within. My family liked to move any time CPS was involved, immediately closing the cases and allowing the abuse to fester and intensify, effectively destroying us. I would like to initiate and set into place a Nationally recognized standard, where children are not lost into the night, and their open cases follow the families under investigation. We all grow up. Our childhoods hardwire who we are as adults, and some of us don’t have a shot in hell. The secrets we are taught to keep behind closed doors are not ours. Those secrets belong to the monsters who created them, and once we realize our voices are the key, they melt under the burning light of truth and die. Finding our voice and being the voice for others is the change that is coming. My dream is to save and defend those who fall through the cracks. The number of little boys and girls affected by neglect, sexual, physical, and mental abuse are far higher than we realize. Every single person can identify one person in their family that is a Monster and is protected. Those motherfuckers, and the sorry ass people who protect them will be held accountable. Read more
