Certification

The flustixcertification process

Every product can qualify for a flustix seal. To do so, it goes through a multi-stage testing and certification process. Depending on the certification programme, independent certification is carried out either through laboratory analyses in accredited testing laboratories or through supply chain audits by qualified auditors from our accredited certification bodies. The final conformity assessment and certification is carried out independently in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065.

Independent testing, independent licensing.

Independent verification

Two routes to robust evidence

Evidence through laboratory analysis

Laboratory testing

Evidence through laboratory analysis

For programmes such as Less Plastics, Microplastic-Free, PFAS-FREE or Recyclable, product samples are analysed in internationally accredited testing laboratories. The analyses use recognised test methods such as TED-GC/MS or RAMAN microscopy. The test report then forms the basis of the independent conformity assessment.

Evidence through supply chain audit

Auditing

Evidence through supply chain audit

For flustix RECYCLED, verification is carried out via an independent chain of custody audit along the supply chain. Qualified auditors from our accredited certification bodies review processes, material flows and documentation on the basis of internationally recognised standards such as DIN EN 15343 and ISO 22095. The audit report then forms the basis of the independent conformity assessment.

Certification process

Six steps to your flustix trustmark

From the enquiry through independent laboratory testing or auditing and the subsequent conformity assessment by our accredited certification partners to regular surveillance, the flustix certification process is structured the same way for every seal.

The flustix testing cycle in six steps
  1. 01

    Application

You complete the questionnaire for your desired trustmark and send it with the relevant data sheets to sales@flustix.com.

  2. 02

    Quotation

Based on your documents you receive your individual quote. Once accepted, you submit product samples (material samples) to the testing laboratory.

  3. 03

    Laboratory testing/auditing

Depending on the certification programme, independent verification is carried out either through laboratory analyses in laboratories internationally accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 or through a chain of custody audit by qualified auditors from our accredited certification bodies.

  4. 04

    Conformity assessment

The examination and its result serve as the basis for the decision: our accredited certification partners assess conformity independently to ISO/IEC 17065.

  5. 05

    Certificate issuance

The certificate is issued and published in the public flustix database. You use your trustmark on-product, at the point of sale and across all marketing channels.

  6. 06

    Check of compliance

To protect all licensees, we carry out regular compliance checks to ensure ongoing conformity.
