PFAS-FREE
flustix PFAS-FREE is the independent proof that a material, a product or a pack is free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, substantiated by laboratory testing and third-party certification. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are increasingly in the focus of regulatory requirements worldwide. At the same time, retail, industry, authorities and consumers expect robust evidence that products and packaging are PFAS-free. The flustix PFAS-FREE certification programme supports companies in documenting PFAS-related claims transparently and verifiably, based on independent laboratory testing and third-party certification.

Limit values
A certification subject meets the analytical requirement when the target substances stay below the limit of quantification documented for the method and the total fluorine parameter does not exceed the value for its product group. Above a total fluorine content of 50 mg/kg, organically and inorganically bound fluorine are differentiated. The target panel explicitly covers ultra-short-chain compounds as well, among them trifluoroacetic acid (TFA, CAS 76-05-1), perfluoropropanoic acid (PFPrA) and the replacement substance ADONA. The certification process
Together with our internationally accredited certification and testing partners, a strong team supports you, from independent laboratory testing at the highest standard and the certificate issued by our certification partners through to green-claims-compliant communication on-product and across all marketing channels.
Fill in the PFAS-FREE application form and send it to contact@flustix.com.
Based on the questionnaire, our certification partner prepares an individual quote. Once accepted, you send samples to the test lab.
Testing is carried out with state-of-the-art technology, according to the specifications of the PFAS-FREE certification programme.
After successful testing, the results undergo a neutral conformity assessment by our certification partners, who are accredited to ISO/IEC 17065. The laboratory testing itself runs in laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
The certificate is issued and published in the official flustix database. Use your trustmark across all channels, at the point of sale, on your website and in sales.
To protect all licensees, we carry out lab-based conformity checks every two years in accordance with EU law.

Send us up to five of your claims and we will set out which of them already hold, which should be made more precise and where independent evidence is advisable or required.
