The flustix network continues to grow – efficient certification, strong service, expert advisory & clear results 1620 1080 Flustix

Since the last update in December 2024, flustix has further expanded its international partner network. Companies are currently facing major regulatory shifts – PPWR, EmpCo, national plastic taxes and bonus systems. As a result, the need for reliable verification, standardised testing methods and fast certification continues to rise. flustix is responding with new partners, increased capacities and additional services that provide global companies with robust regulatory security.

flustix has strategically expanded its international partner network in 2025 to help companies prepare for the growing regulatory requirements arising from PPWR, EmpCo, SUPD, national plastic taxes, bonus systems and the upcoming Green Claims Directive. These regulatory frameworks require not only reliable and standardised evidence, but also internal processes that ensure clean and consistent data, governance and claims.

Many provide certification – flustix provides much more:

With its expanded partnerships, flustix now offers an integrated solution portfolio combining certification, advisory services and digital data structures, enabling companies not only to secure regulatory compliance but also to benefit financially from the new regulations.

Control Union – global connectivity and expansion of the flustix programmes

Control Union is one of the world’s largest and most internationally connected accredited certification bodies. With hundreds of offices and a global auditor network, Control Union and flustix now collaborate across several continents – in Europe, including Spain, England and the Netherlands, as well as in Asia, including South Korea and the Philippines.

Control Union offers the flustix RECYCLED certification according to UNE-EN 15343, which is particularly relevant for Spain and its tax mechanisms. In addition, the flustix LESS PLASTICSand PRODUCT CONTENT MICROPLASTIC-FREE programmes are offered through Control Union.

Tanja Tiede, Sales & Marketing, Control Union Certifications Germany GmbH, adds:

Companies can have certified recyclates recognised under the Spanish plastic tax and the French bonus system – delivering clearly quantifiable economic benefits.

PwC – strategic partner for governance, EmpCo & internal implementation systems

Since this year, flustix and PwC have formed a strategic PPWR and EmpCo partnership to support companies in preparing for the upcoming regulatory requirements. PwC addresses the PPWR and combines this service with EmpCo and the validation of product claims by independent third parties where required. The objective is to build and implement governance structures that enable companies and their supply chains to provide packaging, material and claiming data centrally and in a verifiable manner – a key prerequisite for future-proof PPWR, EmpCo and tax compliance.

Emanuel Chibesakunda, PwC Partner Sustainability Services:

The partnership enables companies to translate strategic advice directly into practical implementation – from the technical assessment of individual claims to structured preparation for the required evidence.

says Joelina Eppelmann, Manager Sustainability Services | Circular Economy at PwC.

ESG-Datahub.org – Visibility of certified products in online retail

If you want as many buyers as possible to immediately recognise that your flustix-certified products are the better choice, clear identification and visibility in online shops is essential. This is precisely where the new partnership with ESG-Datahub.org provides value: flustix licensees receive free access and can store product identifiers such as GTINs, EANs and MPNs linked to their flustix licences. The result: in procurement systems and online shops connected to ESG-Datahub.org, flustix-certified products can be highlighted prominently.

But that’s not all: certified products also receive better scores on ESG-Score.org – a standardised metric used by an increasing number of corporations and public institutions to prioritise sustainable products in procurement.

Those who want to learn more are invited to the ESG-Datahub.org webinar on 16 December at 11:00, can sign up here.

About flustix

The organisation, founded in Berlin in 2017, offers six distinct flustix seals: The flustix LESS PLASTICS – MIN. xx% PLASTIC-FREE seals certify, in collaboration with recognised testing laboratories and accredited certification bodies, the entire product as well as either its packaging or the product itself. Products that refrain from using microplastics are transparently labelled with the PLASTIC-FREE – Product Content Microplastic-Free seal. The flustix RECYCLED trustmark certifies recyclates, semi-finished goods, and products with recycled content, including plastics, metals, and glass. flustix RECYCLABLE independently communicates the recyclability of packaging. The flustix seals serve as a guide for consumers and thereby support companies in pursuing a sustainability-focused business strategy and ensuring credible sustainability communication.
