Market requirements
PPWR, EmpCo and national levies shift the burden of proof onto the supply chain. Suppliers who document their products independently make it easier for European customers to buy from them.
Packaging
The EU Packaging Regulation obliges European brands and retailers to document recycled content, recyclability and packaging performance. They increasingly pass these requirements on to their suppliers and expect independently certified evidence.
Green Claims
From 27 September 2026, environmental claims in the EU must be independently substantiated. Your certification enables your European customers to make and keep such claims.
Financial benefits
Spain and France grant financial benefits exclusively for certified recycled content. Combined, that is up to €1,450 per tonne of recycled material, a direct argument for certified supply.
Pollutants
Stricter REACH restrictions increase market pressure for verified PFAS-free products. Suppliers who certify early stay eligible for European tenders.
PPWR – Regulation (EU) 2025/40
The EU Packaging Regulation applies from 12 August 2026. European buyers need reliable figures on recycled content and recyclability, and they ask their suppliers for them.
Sub-license
A technical certification ends with the finished packaging. What your European customer may print on that packaging is a different question: for that they need evidence issued in their own name. That is what the sub-license does. You certify once, your customers receive their own license number on top of it, without repeat testing and without your supply chain being disclosed.

Market development
Green Claim requirements, PPWR and retailer expectations have changed procurement in Europe.
