What is the difference between flustix and DIN CERTCO?

The two are not alternatives to one another; they do different jobs. flustix owns the scheme and issues the trustmark: we write the requirements that are assessed against, and we award the mark. A certification body such as DIN CERTCO assesses conformity against a scheme. Whoever certifies does not test, and whoever writes a scheme does not assess their own conformity. That separation is what makes a trustmark checkable.

What connected us

From 2019 until the end of 2025 the mark flustix RECYCLED DIN-geprüft was awarded jointly with DIN CERTCO, on the basis of the DIN CERTCO certification scheme “Products made from recycled material”. The cooperation ended when we moved to our own scheme; the full story is under Was there previously a “flustix RECYCLED DIN-geprüft” mark?.

How it works today

Since mid-December 2025, flustix RECYCLED has been licensed exclusively on the basis of the independent flustix RECYCLED Certification Programme. Conformity assessment is carried out by several mutually independent certification bodies working to ISO/IEC 17065: Control Union Certifications, IGSC, TÜV SÜD and Kiwa. Which body assessed an individual certificate can be read from the letter in the licence number and looked up in the public certification database.

DIN CERTCO is no longer among them. Anyone who comes across a page naming both today is looking at a state of affairs from before December 2025.
