The flustix Sublicensing System
Simple, Transparent, Practical, and Future-Proof

The flustix sublicensing system provides companies with a convenient way to transfer certification from the original producer to the private label. White-label manufacturers and private label distributors benefit especially: they can equip their end products with individual license numbers without the need for additional lab tests or audits. This strengthens the brand, creates transparency in sustainability communication for consumers, and enhances customer loyalty.

Maximum Simplicity for White- and Private Label Manufacturers and Their Buyers: The system is entirely document-based and works in just a few steps

  1. The white-label manufacturer certifies its contract-manufactured products with flustix.
  2. The buyer, as the distributor of the private label, applies for a sublicense for their private label using just two forms—an application and a sublicense agreement.
  3. The distributor receives unique license numbers for their private label product.
  4. Certificates and seals are issued without public disclosure of the white-label manufacturer.

This eliminates any additional effort for distributors who purchase products and market them under their own brands. White-label manufacturers can strategically leverage this service to build long-term relationships with their buyers.

Future-Proof Through Regulatory Compliance

With the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive, as well as the EU Green Claims Directive, PPWR, or the Eco-Design Regulation, distributors are increasingly required to meet extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations to demonstrate compliance with sustainability criteria. The flustix sublicensing system helps private label distributors meet these requirements—a clear competitive advantage.

A Practical Example

In the cosmetics or household care (WPR) sector, the claim of microplastic-free content significantly influences consumers’ purchasing decisions. Different formulations can be quickly and easily reviewed and certified under this system. This provides significant benefits to both parties:

  • Contract manufacturers meet customer demands for compliant proof of sustainability.
  • Brand owners enjoy a positive market effect while remaining compliant with current and upcoming regulations

A Service That Delivers:

  • A fully document-based process.
  • No additional lab tests or audits required.
  • Unique license numbers and maximum transparency for end consumers.

With this service, white-label manufacturers can strengthen their market position, support their buyers in overcoming regulatory challenges, and secure their long-term loyalty. About flustix

The organisation, founded in Berlin in 2017, offers six distinct flustix seals: The flustix LESS PLASTICS – MIN. xx% PLASTIC-FREE seals certify, in collaboration with recognised testing laboratories and accredited certification bodies, the entire product as well as either its packaging or the product itself. Products that refrain from using microplastics are transparently labelled with the PLASTIC-FREE – Product Content Microplastic-Free seal. The flustix RECYCLED – DIN geprüft seal certifies recyclates, semi-finished goods, and products with recycled content, including plastics, metals, and glass. flustix RECYCLABLE independently communicates the recyclability of packaging. The flustix seals serve as a guide for consumers and thereby support companies in pursuing a sustainability-focused business strategy and ensuring credible sustainability communication.
