What’s new at flustix?

Sustainability is the topic that continues to dominate in the period after coronavirus. Anyone who wants to score points at the point of sale has to show customers actions and be able to prove them. flustix continues to grow, and there is strong progress on subjects such as recognition, recommendation for public procurement, new product certifications and the relevance of seals within the circular economy.

Siegelklarheit.de is an initiative of the German federal government for greater consumer transparency around seals. Relevance for public procurement
The public sector spends at least 300 billion euros on procurement every year. Products certified by flustix are now taken into account. In “Kleine Kniffe”, the magazine for sustainable municipal purchasing (October 2020, pp. 26 & 27), the requirements and the transparency of flustix RECYCLED are highlighted and praised by the German Environment Agency: “Only the Blue Angel and flustix integrate additional requirements for the testing and limitation of various pollutants […]”, writes the UBA, Section III 1.3, Ecodesign, Environmental Labelling, Environmentally Friendly Procurement.

The flustix family is growing
New licences have been added to the more than 200 already awarded. Certified with the microplastic-free seal, among others, are the cleaning tabs from Klaeny, the CBD sports gel from Vaay and the dishwasher tabs from Claro, as well as the new laundry tabs from BioBaula. In the textile sector, too, sustainability is right at the top of the agenda. Textile manufacturer MUNTAGNARD, for example, continues to rely on reliable flustix certification for its plastic-free T-shirts. At the same time the use of recyclate, for instance rPET, keeps increasing. Sportswear manufacturers in particular advertise with it – but such commitment only achieves high credibility at the point of sale and in advertising with independent certification such as the flustix RECYCLED seal.
On top of that, a plastic-free paper cup distributed by the company BVO International GmbH could finally be awarded the plastic-free seal. A milestone in the to-go segment. Read more…
